My Top 12 List of Favorite Health and Fitness Blogs, Podcasts, and Websites

I love to learn new things and one of the many great things about being in health and fitness is that there are always lots of new things to learn about! Podcasts have become a real favorite way for me to keep up with things because you can listen as you cook, walk or commute.

I was asked to share some of my favorite food blogs, websites and podcasts and it was hard to narrow the list down to just twelve but I did it and here they are. 

 

Foundmyfitness

This is my new favorite podcast  FoundMyFitness is Dr. Rhonda Patrick. Rhonda has extensive research experience in the fields of aging, cancer, nutrition. A podcast dedicated to helping you make peace with food and your body.

Foundation Training was developed by Dr. Eric Goodman. BackFitPro

This is the web site of Dr. Stuart McGill, the world’s most renowned spine specialist.  He is the definitive voice when it comes to back training.  Dr. Stuart M. McGill is a professor of spine biomechanics at the University of Waterloo (Waterloo, ON, Canada). His advice is often sought by governments, corporations, legal experts and elite athletes and teams from around the world. Nutritionfacts.org

Nutritionfacts.org is a strictly non-commercial, science-based public service provided by Dr. Michael Greger M.D. FACLM, providing free updates on the latest in nutrition research via bite-sized videos. There are more than a thousand videos on nearly every aspect of healthy eating, with new videos and articles uploaded every day.  Dr. Greger is my absolute favorite source for all things nutrition.  He is quirky, funny, warm and super smart.Check out the web site here.

 

Happy Healthy Long Life- The Healthy Librarian

You know I love the work Debby does, I posted a Q&A with her a few weeks ago.  You must check out her FB page, she is a medical librarian at a leading US medical center who's been in the medical library "business" for 40 years. Hummusapien 

Alexis is a dietician, food blogger, and lifestyle coach. Her web site is full of great recipes, thoughts on having a healthy relationship with food, and all delivered in an entertaining way. Minimalist Baker

Minimalist Baker is a website devoted to simple cooking. All recipes require 10 ingredients or less, 1 bowl or 1 pot, or 30 minutes or less to prepare. Recipes are plant-based and gluten-free.  Contrary to the name, you can find lots of tasty recipes for soups, entrée’s and salads along with yummy baked goods.  This is one of my absolute favorite sources for new recipes. Minimalist Baker web site

Thug Kitchen

Whenever I go to the Thug Kitchen web site or crack open one of their cookbooks, I instantly want to put on a faux leather jacket, ripped jeans and some bad ass boots.  This is THE most entertaining food blog out there and their recipes are all plant-based.  If you are at all offended by profanity you may want to avoid it but if you do, you will miss out on some fantastic recipes.  Personally I think we can take healthy eating a little too seriously and especially those of us who are vegan so Thug Kitchen is a fu*king breath of fresh air. http://www.thugkitchen.com

Oh She Glows 

Angela Liddon’s recipe blog is almost always rated as the #1 plant-based recipe blog for the stunning photography and her tasty recipes. Check out Oh She Glows here.
