Tropical Green Smoothie

Maybe you over celebrated during the holidays and are feeling like you want to get back on track. If so, this smoothie is a great start. The recipe is inspired by one of Angela Liddon's recipes. 

I added twice the amount of greens Angela's recipe called for because greens are so good for our hair, skin, bones and blood vessels. I also added more ginger because of the anti-inflammatory properties it has. The  pineapple brings great taste and copper, calcium, magnesium and Vit C to boost our immune system. A small frozen banana adds the texture of the smoothie and the sweetenss it provides.  Enjoy!


  • 2 cups packed fresh spinach
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 small frozne banana
  • 1 tablespoon or more of chopped and peeled fresh ginger
  • juice from one freshly squeezed lime


Place all ingredients into a high powered blender and process.  

Makes two servings.
